Job description, responsibilities and duties

The motivated "Head of Quality / Quality Manager Food" will take on responsibility tasks regarding quality and food safety for the trade and production of food ingredients. The "Head of Quality / Quality Manager Food" is leading the team consisting of one Quality Manager and one Quality Assistant and cooperates closely with the colleagues from Purchasing, Sales, Product Development and Customer Service.

It is important to mention that a professional and functioning quality management is of existential importance for our company. Our Quality Management System shall be lived every day and has the maximum support of the management.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Management of the Quality Team

• Introduction and continuous improvement of new and current internal processes and documentation.

• Utilization of our new Document Management System (incl. versioning functionality)

• Utilization of our new Work Flow Management System

• Manage sales product, quality-related topics: creation and review of sales specifications, labelling

• Manage customer, quality-related topics: customer questionnaires, customer sampling, complaints, general customer inquiries regarding quality

• Manage purchase product quality-related topics: creation and review of purchase specifications, product approvals, supplier approval and toll-production.

• Manage 3rd-party, quality-related topics: authorities, laboratory, warehouse and transport logistics.

• Manage internal, quality-related topics: training of team colleagues, monitoring of products and raw materials by means of regular, risk-based random checks.

• Participate (together with the managing director) on suppliers visits / audits in Europe, Asia and South America

• IFS certification re-certification audits, internal audits

A good knowledge of the English language is necessary, additional knowledge of German language is an advantage but not a requirement!

Personality requirements and skills

• Secondary or university education specializing in food hygiene, technology or related qualifications.
• At least two years of professional experience in a similar, quality-related position
• Good knowledge of the English language, spoken and written
• Safe user knowledge in Microsoft Office and Windows 10
• Important competencies: team player, systematic, self-determined, reliable, precise and solution-oriented, descicion making, methodical, facts oriented, reflective, interpersonal skills
• Interest in close cooperation with our production plant in Austria and our suppliers in Europe, Asia and South America.


Brief description of the company

VITACHEM is a medium sized (18 persons), fast growing, sales and production organization of high quality and healthy food ingredients.

Our customer base is spread across Europe. Especially in our home markets (Slovakia, Czech Republic and Austria) we have achieved a dominant market position in some segments and are expanding on this basis in Europe.

After strategic investments in 2018/2019, we had been able to double our sales in 2020 and expect to grow our sales in 2021 by additional 50%.

In addition to Vitachem, our subsidiary Graf's Naturprodukte GmbH (, 18 employees) with two production facilities in Austria, focuses on the production of natural and organic foods and food ingredients based on vegetables such as garlic, Onion, paprika. Here, too, we are able to achieve above-average growth rates of 15-25% annually.
