Náplň práce, pravomoci a zodpovědnosti


Strategic Purchaser at VAG s.r.o. is responsible for ensuring cost-effective and timely purchase of assigned materials, goods and services as required by the procurement plan whilst ensuring quality control and compliance with the company´s policies and procedures.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Elaborates commodity strategies in alignment with company and procurement strategies
  • Proactively identifies and executes cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals.
  • Maintains and promotes long-lasting relationships with existing suppliers as well as approaching new suppliers and explore new opportunities – actively drives the global sourcing strategy.
  • Performs all procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, bidding process, negotiation, supplier auditing, new supplier approvals, nomination, supplier record maintenance, elaboration of frame contracts
  • Drafts and reviews contract specifications and provisions (e.g. penalties, payment terms, compliance terms)
  • Communicates with the suppliers to ensure that the deliverable materials, goods or services meet specified needs and requirements and are delivered on time.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement activities including supplier consolidation rationalization, inventory optimization, payment terms adjustment and the use of best practice purchasing techniques (cost break-downs, open book policies) to obtain best price and quality.
  • Demonstrates the initiative to improve and streamline procurement processes in the organization and work cooperatively with others in order to generate quality services to the company.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in the procurement and sourcing field.
  • Education in field of Supply Chain Management / Business Administration / Manufacturing / Distribution & Logistics would be an advantage.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong working knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of contracts.
  • Significant experience in collecting and analyzing data.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
  • Very good command of English.
  • Some degree of IT literacy and the ability to handle electronic data.
  • Hands on experience with the company ERP software, especially with the SAP modules.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
