CE Competition Counsel - fixed term to cover maternity leave

Job description, responsibilities and duties

What will be your job with us?
- Analyzing potential threats and minimizing/ eliminating risks arising from Tesco's day-to-day business operations,
- Finding business-oriented, but still compliant solutions for competition law-related matters; being a trusted and respected partner for all the key stakeholders,
- Providing support on competition law-related investigations and acquisitions in front of the local authorities,
- Owning the implementation and BAU operations of the CE competition law compliance framework along with applicable remedial actions and plans, i.e. keeping the competition law compliance program up-to date and making sure that Tesco CE fully complies with respective blueprint controls and other requirements derived from local/ Group laws and policies; if required, making sure that the competition law compliance program is amended to fully reflect on the CE environment,
- Increasing the competition law awareness across the whole Tesco CE business, i.e. organizing tailored F2F workshops and tailored comms for all relevant stakeholders (including but not limited to Product, Mall, GP etc.); where possible, supporting the general comms activities (campaigns) of the overall CE Compliance team (within the competition law compliance framework),
- Preparing materials for any external monitoring and making sure that the monitoring results are being discussed with key stakeholders (e.g. CE Leadership, CE RCC, Group Compliance etc.),
- Reporting to CE/ Group RCC on any significant competition law-related developments, threats etc.,
- Up-skilling the CE Legal team on competition law-related developments, threats etc.,
- Advising the business on regulatory issues (including supply legislation, retail legislation and potential breaches of the EU competition law) and managing their impact through horizon scanning and individual consultations.
