Job description, responsibilities and duties
About the Team
Working in the Group Data Services (GDS) you will work with teams across Swiss Re to solve some of the hardest problems in the re/insurance data space using cutting-edge technologies.
While most of your peers and key partners are based in Zurich, the team is composed of an international workforce based in different locations, from USA to Bangalore, and serving a global customer basis.
About the Role
In this role you will work with ingesting data from private and public cloud into Azure Serverless containers, curate the data using Synapse and do predictive analysis using our strategic platform Foundry across Swiss Re.
Key responsibilities
-Design and implement data pipelines in collaboration with our data users and other internal teams
-Ensure reliability, data quality and optimal performance of our data assets
-Transpose complex business and analytics requirements into high-quality data assets
-Deliver high-quality code, focusing on simplicity, reusability, performance, and maintainability
-Work with solution engineers, data scientists and product owner to deliver end to end products

About You
-Overall 3+ years of experience with Software/data engineering skills and proficiency in programming languages
-Hands on development experience with Python is a must.
In depth knowledge of distributed computing frameworks, PySpark experience is a must.
-Strong knowledge in Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL
-Experience with orchestration frameworks and Azure DevOps CI/CD tools.
-Strong understanding of data modelling and data architecture concepts
-Hands-on experience working on Foundry Pipelines is desirable.
