Job description, responsibilities and duties

This is an outstanding opportunity to work hands-on with the latest SAP S/4 HANA technology based on an Azure Cloud hosted environment.

The SAP General Ledger is part of the financial accounting and reporting platform introduced in a multi-year innovation program, redefining and harmonizing the technology and operating model for SwissRe group world-wide.

Your responsibilities will include:
• You will maintain, further enhance and operate the SAP General Ledger (GL) to enable the successful and timely execution of the global financial closing processes
• You will assume ownership for customer interactions and accurate reflection of requirements and priorities within the product backlog
• Act as main IT partner for the Financial Accounting and Reporting teams
• Communicate and build clarity on delivery timelines, dependencies and develop cross-functional solutions jointly with other squads

About the Team
• Diverse and dynamic team of IT specialists, IT business analysts, SAP FI/CO consultants, ABAP and HANA developers
• Team is operating as a squad within a fully agile DevOps operating model with end-to-end responsibility for the product.
• Globally distributed team (Germany, Switzerland, India, UK, Slovakia) working closely with internal finance colleagues located in Switzerland, India and significant finance community based out of Bratislava, Slovakia
• Our focus is to run, maintain, automate, further improve existing IT processes, functionalities and develop new ones.
• We are responsible for delivering the financial statements for both internal and external reporting requirements. In order to ensure that the General Ledger Product meets the expectations of the business, the team is collaborating closely with all partners to ensure short feedback cycles and continuous improvements of functionalities.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Bachelor or master's degree in IT, Financial or Business field
• 6+ years of work experience in IT leadership role (e.g. Product Owner, IT lead, IT project coordinator)
• Business domain knowledge in the area of General Ledger
• Interest and willingness to learn SAP technology
• SAP FI hands-on experience including SAP customizing would be an asset but not a must
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Strong leadership skills with focus on content leadership (non-directive)
• Delivery oriented, independent working style with “hands-on” mentality
• Analytical and conceptional thinking capabilities
• Able to work under stress and ability to navigate ambiguity
