Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the Role

In this role as Asset Management (AM) Governance Specialist, you will gain hands-on experience and develop an excellent understanding of all governance-related topics and operations for asset managers. You will work in a cross-functional and multi-cultural environment and will have the opportunity to enhance your analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute and steer end-to-end governance operations, focusing on constant improvement and efficiency of processes and the risk and control environment
• Drive, coordinate and manage various governance related control activities and reviews, e.g. review of processes, risks, controls, business unit plans, end user applications etc.
• Support your stakeholders with governance requirements, including knowledge sharing sessions on specific governance topics
• Collaborate with other AM Governance team members to cover other governance activities
• Manage and deliver governance-related projects
• Cross-functional collaboration with other governance teams and assurance function in Swiss Re

As AM Governance Specialist, you will be advising to Asset Management Investment Steering office and Asset Management External Management office.

About the Team

The AM Governance team is based in Slovakia and Zurich. We are a limited number of professionals responsible for framework maintenance and reporting in collaboration with internal and external partners. Through the day we experience a healthy mix of ad hoc issue resolution, compelling investigations and ambitious initiatives. Systematical improvements are important part of our business.

About You

You are a professional with investments or banking background with 2-5 years of experience. In addition to that, you have:

• Understanding and interest in investments and financial products
• Ability to look at things from risk, compliance or governance angle
• Skills to prioritize tasks, handle numerous initiatives at a time and meet deadlines while delivering high quality results important
• Ability to build up a network of contacts
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ability to interact with many different teams and layers of organization
• Ability to focus on details without losing track of the big picture
• Advanced with MS Office applications
