Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the role

In this role you will be part of a team within Swiss Re's InfoTech & Data Office organization.

The main focus of this position is to support the delivery of SR internal and external (services for SR clients) applications ranging across the Life & Health Underwriting and Claims domains. The usage of these systems involves risk assessment, case tracking (Underwriting and Claims), exchange of case information with external clients, reporting and dashboard capabilities for external and internal use as well as the decision support and automation.

Working on large scale initiatives involves capturing and detailing business requirements, the development of specifications and testing the solution. You will be working on these activities in close liaison with internal and external partners from both business and IT departments.

Main responsibilities:

• Analyse and define solutions for sophisticated business requirements - gather
business requirements and specify according functional and non-functional specifications
• Help designing risk assessment and decision models
• Build and maintain a trusted relationship with our customers and technical teams
• Participate in agile ceremonies with our development partners
• Continually seek ways to improve and enhance the quality of applications and the process of application development and maintenance
• Maintain a focus on a high quality requirements and specification documents
• Support maintaining and evolving the business analysis standards within our organization
• Share knowledge and support team members and peers
• Help to coordinate and run the user acceptance testing
• Business operations support

About the team

Our team includes business analysis and is working with UI/UX experts and development partners having in-depth knowledge in both reinsurance and IT.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
Follow-up/Higher Professional Education
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)
Postgraduate (Doctorate)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven business analysis skills
• Demonstrable understanding of and skills to apply usability principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complicated and complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
• Strong customer focus
• Knowledgeable in project management methodology – experience in project management is a plus
• Experience in agile software development methodology
• Great teammate with good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under stress and high level of flexibility
• Demonstrable ability to get things done
• Proficient in English, German is an advantage
