Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the Team
The team consists of General Ledger Professionals who make sure that accounting of Swiss Re's Legal entities is accurate and fulfill all regulatory requirements. GL team has full ownership for non-technical accounting and GL activities in multi-valuation, including closing activities and ensures high quality of data delivered to the FSA managers. GL team is also first contact for internal and external audit for activities within its mandate.

About the Role
The position is designed for an experienced SAP General Ledger (GL) accountant with solid knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA. Ideal candidate should have experience with execution of accounting transactions in SAP for Fixed assets, AR, AP. You will be leading and participating in various projects and initiatives in the area of the general ledger. This role offers an outstanding opportunity to work with experts from GL accounting as well as IT teams.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Standardization and automation of accounting processes based on SAP GL functionalities and process harmonization
• Support the GLAS team during Quarterly Financial Closing Activities within SAP GL
• Lead and participate in various projects in the area of the GL
• Help to identify any potential gaps in controls and areas for improvement while ensuring consistency between the regions and teams (globally)
• Work together with IT to implement new accounting requirements
• Coordinate, organize and support UAT testing
• Create, conduct, and facilitate trainings/knowledge exchange sessions to increase the knowledge of the team for existing and new features/processes in SAP

• Experience as a General Ledger accountant or similar
• SAP S/4 Hana (including FIORI) advance user

• Proficient English written and spoken
• Adherence to deadlines
• IFRS knowledge is advantage
