Job description, responsibilities and duties

iptiQ is a risk tech start-up within Swiss Re Group. Swiss Re is one of the world’s leading providers of reinsurance, insurance and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer. We anticipate and manage a wide variety of risks, from natural catastrophes and climate change to cybercrime.

iptiQ provides digital, bespoke and transparent L&H and P&C protection products in a B2B2C manner. About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Professional in the Reporting team in iptiQ EMEA L&H. Reporting directly to the carrier CFO and working closely with the Valuation and Accounting teams, amongst many others and exposure to senior stakeholders within the division.

Your focus will be to cover the management of our statutory Luxembourg GAAP and local GAAP results. You will preferably be based in Bratislava, but we will consider candidates in other European cities that we operate from.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

- Quarterly external regulatory reporting and internal reporting to Senior Management as well as ad hoc reporting including variance analysis for respective periods.
- Establishing reliable and efficient processes, drive operational excellence to improve quality and reduce operational risk.
- Review accounting data provided by other teams
- Provide accounting and reporting support in business transactions
- Ensure financial analysis to your business partners for those valuations in the scope of your role

iptiQ EMEA L&H sits within Swiss Re's iptiQ division; established to deliver white-label life insurance solutions sold through our partners, directly to consumers. We are a dynamic, motivated and technology driven team, organised to provide creative life insurance solutions and engage with consumers in innovative ways. Through our strong operational infrastructure, creative thinking, insurance know-how and ecommerce competences we want to drive the digitalization of the life insurance business in Europe.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2)

Personality requirements and skills

- You are a professionally qualified accountant or have an equivalent education (BA, MA) with a minimum of 3 years' experience with full financial statements
- Experience with accounting & closing activities and knowledge of at least one major accounting principles (e.g. IFRS, US GAAP, Swiss GAAP, Lux GAAP)
- Pro-active communicator and relationship builder
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to work with data and systems to apply good business judgement as well as independently deliver timely and impactful outputs
- Self-motivated and managed to deliver results to deadlines with high levels of coordination and teamwork
- Your command of English is excellent.
