Job description, responsibilities and duties

Do you have passion for detail, and you like to interpret areas for improvement from large data sets? If you master advanced Excel skills and you are open to learn new systems and applications, you have a good starting point for this role.

Main duties:
• Keen eye for detail, analyzing and interpreting large data and support decision-making in collaboration with various stakeholders . We derive logical conclusions which support business decisions and improve data quality.
• Find opportunities for simplification and be enablers to lead Operational excellence
• Establish a network and closely collaborate with the professionals across the organization and deliver excellent Client accounting services
• Be part of or lead small project that adds value to the business

About the Team

The Technical Accountant (TA) Life & Health (L&H) Business Analytics is a newly formed team in Life & Health Technical Accounting Bratislava. In this role, advanced in scope and constantly evolving, we provide excellent opportunities to collaborate with various teams including those in business functions such as Technical Accounting, Actuaries, Contracts & Wording, Business Services and Client Markets within the L&H division, locally and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analysis and interpretation of the financial results (e.g. unallocated cash balances, revenues and accruals)
• Booking movement analysis with comparison to estimated figures
• Assist in Quarterly reporting to Finance and Actuarial management in consultation with Valuation team
• Work with other internal/external departments to highlight accounting discrepancies and to determine potential improvement areas for analytical support
• Perform premium rate check in accordance with global process and prepare relevant analysis and documentation
• Utilize a systematic approach to read, interpret and independently apply the terms of agreements (treaty) against client reported data
• Generate and provide analysis and reports on technical accounting data
• Present the output of analysis and propose resolution of exceptions
• Work on special ad-hoc tasks that support management in decision making process

Personality requirements and skills

- Bachelor/Master's in Finance or Accounting or equivalent on the job experience (Insurance/Finance related certifications will be an added advantage)
- Relevant job experience at least 2 years with focus on business and data analysis, audit, advisory or actuarial management
- Technical knowledge on insurance and reinsurance concepts preferably in Life&Health domain (E2E L&H Value Chain, Life & Health products) is plus
- Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to challenge the status quo, contribute & prioritize multiple partners (multi-cultural and cross functional teams in a virtual set-up)
- Being An agile teammate with the ability to handle own workload and demonstrate a sense of Accountable, Responsible and Commitment
