Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Corporate Solutions Carrier Analytics Branch Controlling Team is responsible for supporting the European & Asian branches of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd and Swiss Re International SE with accounting, controlling, financial analysis and reporting according to local statutory, Luxembourg and US GAAP accounting policies and local tax requirements.

As member of the team you support legal entity and branch accounting, controlling and reporting activities. You seek possibilities to further develop, streamline and improve the team's delivery processes. Further, you ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.

Main tasks:
• Provide timely and accurate legal entity and branch accounting, controlling and reporting tasks according to local statutory, regulatory and Group requirements, including closing and reporting of defined entities
• Ensure timely booking of accruals, payroll, fixed assets, VAT, WHT, intercompany recharges (including their settlement), and other non-technical accounting activities
• Support financial controlling of selected entities with focus on statutory and group requirements (payable/receivable signoffs, local statutory vs. group reporting reconciliations, reconciliations for the accounts under the ownership, closing notes and related tasks)
• Provide accurate financial information to the management to enable timely and current decisions to be made
• Financial reporting to local tax teams
• Reconciliation process between local statutory and group accounting principles
• Ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and the audit requirements
• Support audit activities and prepare requested information
• Participate and support Finance related projects and perform ad hoc tasks as required
• Identify and evaluate process improvement possibilities
• Perform other position related tasks as instructed by the Team leader

About the Team
We, in the Corporate Solutions Branch Controlling Team are responsible for supporting the branches of Swiss Re with financial analysis and reporting according to local statutory, IFRS and US GAAP policies as well as local tax jurisdictions. We support legal entity and branch accounting, controlling and reporting activities. Further, we ensure compliance with the risk and control framework and audit requirements.
Each team member has assigned 3-5 branches. We have complex financial overview about the assigned branches.
As our department is rapidly growing over time, we are searching for new colleagues to become a part of our team. We cooperate with Finance managers, Branch managers, Tax department and Auditors. We are currently engaged in the transition to new IT system.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Advanced (C1)

Personality requirements and skills

About you:
• Three to five years of work experience in accounting/financial reporting, preferably in insurance or reinsurance business
• Qualification in Accounting, Audit, Finance and/or university degree in Economics, Science or Business Administration
• Knowledge regarding statutory accounting policies and regulatory frameworks
• Understanding of financial reporting processes, risk and controls
• Experience in the use of standard bookkeeping software for financial accounting
• Proven PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
• Team player with good communication skills
• Engaged and motivated
• Fluent English written and spoken
