Job description, responsibilities and duties

The Business Continuity Manager maintains organization business continuity plans and the incorporation of business impact assessments (BIAs), enterprise risk assessments, and vendor risk assessments into business continuity plans (BCP). This position is responsible for training and management of employees in business continuity concepts and roles through periodic meetings and documents disaster recovery plans. This individual leads periodic business continuity and disaster recovery exercises and documents the results and tracks lessons learned from those exercises.

The BCM Manager will work with various functions in the organization to ensure the currency of business continuity planning, training, testing and attestation.

This position will require you to be able to develop new reports for executive management that documents the current status of the organization’s resiliency and recovery posture.

Knowledge & skills qualifications:
- Knowledge of business continuity planning techniques and technologies is a must.
- Knowledge of crisis management processes and procedures is a plus.
- Candidate must have proven ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, to ensure plan accuracy and when dealing with various levels within the organization

Information about the selection process

We are seeking a Professional for a BCP (Business Continuity Plan) role with Mid-Senior level BCP experience with exposure to financial service institutions (banking, insurance or other financial service entity) or experience from internal/external IT services provider environment. Focus is on BCP (the business reaction and execution in a crisis) but someone with technical DR experience (in terms of testing the technology recovery etc). A candidate who could develop, review and critique plans and analyze the overall DR/BCP approach would be of a great value.

- High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Project management knowledge or experience is a plus
- Able to perform with minimal direct supervision of routine duties
- Demonstrate ability to solve problems and take care of a variety of variables and situations
- Ability to develop and interpret information in the context of the organization's interest required
- Certification in business continuity (CBCP, MBCP) or emergency management (CEM) is a plus
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of banking and financial services is a plus
- Fluency in written and spoken English
