  • Place of work: Bratislava region (The job requires travelling)
  • Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards: 2 500 EUR/month+ variable bonus
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract type: full-time

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Your way leads you into the central global purchasing department of our business unit for railway infrastructure.
  • You will work as global commodity managers for mechanical parts for overhead catenary and for mechanical parts after drawing
  • You will independently negotiate and conclude contracts for complex projects with suppliers in global business divisions
  • You will identify, qualify, and develop top performing suppliers on a global scale, build a portfolio for preferred suppliers and optimize their performance continuously
  • You will lead and manage an interdisciplinary task force under consideration of regional divisions
  • As a go to person you will be responsible for clarification and escalation cases and will maintain an active risk management
  • You will initiate, develop, and implement cost reduction solutions with our internal department of Cost & Value Engineering

    Requirements for the employee

    Candidates with education suit the position

    University education (Bachelor's degree)
    University education (Master's degree)
    Postgraduate (Doctorate)

    Educational Specialization

    Economy, Indusrial Engineering

    Language skills

    English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Upper intermediate (B2) and Slovak - Proficiency (C2)

    Personality requirements and skills

    • You hold a university degree (master's degree / diploma) in an engineering or commercial discipline (e.g. Industrial Engineering)
    • You have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in strategic procurement
    • You understand technical contexts well and your business actions are structured and solution-oriented
    • You have strong communication skills and you are fluent in English and German
    • You gained user knowledge of MS Office and SAP R3
    • You have a wide-ranged practical experience in negotiation management
    • Analytical thinking combined with conceptual and methodical abilities
    • Proactive, goal-oriented person with excellent organisational and time management skills
    • Positive attitude, drive and motivation in targets delivery
