Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to take a leadership role within Quest’s Platform Management Group reporting out of the Quest Zilina lab.
The position will involve managing the development of existing products in our portfolio, adopting operational efficiency and driving continual process improvement. The candidate would work closely with the rest of the management team to make the Zilina development lab a center of excellence, as well as a great place to work for all our employees.

Responsibilities
• Manage and provide direct technical leadership to multi-disciplinary development teams
• Work closely with Product Owners and Product Management teams to support design and development for new products and enhancements to existing products, and product lifecycle management
• Work together with our Engineering teams, advising on best practices to help ensure products are implemented with appropriate technology choices, gathering feedback and adjusting said practices as necessary
• Recruiting, developing, and motivating SW engineers
• Mentor software engineers across the team in Slovakia and whole business unit

Personality requirements and skills

MUST HAVE
• Minimum of 6 years working experience in the SW development industry
• At least 2 years of experience in leadership/manager role within agile organization
• Deep understanding of DevOps principles and modern SW architecture patterns
• Strong working knowledge of development frameworks and integration technologies, for example .Net/.NetCore and C# (highly preferable)
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

NICE TO HAVE
• Experience developing cloud-based solutions in AWS / MS Azure
• Familiarity with JS frameworks like React, Angular or similar
• Experience with TDD/BDD & test automation frameworks like Cypress, Selenium and similar
