Job description, responsibilities and duties

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI)´s Europe and the Middle East (EME) Resource and Development (RD) team is exploring the potential of funding from family foundations* and small corporate foundations based across the region. This research internship role would be tasked with assessing the potential of such a funding stream through a scan of the number of foundations with a geographic and thematic match to Habitat’s work and calculating the approximate value of funding from such organizations. The research should also include an assessment of what skills and languages might be necessary for the eventual team member who would be managing this new funding stream. A preliminary list of research questions will be provided to support the intern in completing this task.
While this is a primarily desk-based research task, some phone calls – conducted via Teams platform – will be necessary.
The outcomes of this research project will enable Habitat to better understand the funding landscape and assess what staffing investments should be made to further increase our fundraising capacity. This will allow us to continue to raise more funds to serve families most at need.

*Private family foundations are private foundations set up, funded and governed by families who make grants from their charitable endowments.

The expected length of this internship is 3 months with a possibility of extension upon need for support with another project.

• Desk-based and Teams call research of family and small corporate foundations from across the EME region
