Senior buyer (English + German language)

Job description, responsibilities and duties

Your main tasks will be:
* Fulfillment of demand for purchase (meet specification, quantity, quality, delivery time) in line with internal processes and requirements
* Fulfillment of commodity strategy defined by regional Strategic Buyer (area of Indirect Material & Services; Finished Products)
* Active communication with internal stakeholders and external partners
* Execution of purchasing transactions in SAP system (material & vendor master data, purchase order, order acknowledgement, delivery tracking...) for internal stakeholders within EMEA
* Proactive quotation within specified threshold
* Negotiation of small and mid-value one-time orders (price, delivery conditions, payment terms etc.); looking for potentials to contribute to cost savings
* Support of Strategic Buyers in any kind of purchasing related tasks/projects
* Support on invoice clarification with Accounting department
* Support Quality and Service Departments when supplier quality and/or delivery issues are identified that require escalation
* Regular and ad-hoc reporting (Excel based)
* User support in purchasing related questions (processes, tools, quotation etc.)
* Fulfillment of KPI´s (processing time, on time delivery, cost savings, rebates, payment terms etc.)

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Upper intermediate (B2)

Number of years of experience


Personality requirements and skills

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:

* Fluency in English AND German language (knowledge of both languages is inevitable - level B2 is sufficient)
* At least 2 years of experience with purchasing of direct/indirect materials is a must
* Experienced SAP user
* Experienced MS Office user (focus on Excel)
* Ability to negotiate
* Good presentation and communication skills
* Analytical thinking
* Ability to prioritize in a changing environment, adaptability, flexibility
* Previous experience from Shared Services is an advantage
