Finance manager (Maternity cover, part-time role 60hrs/month)

  • Basic wage component (gross) and other rewards: 900 - 1 050 EUR/monthstarting from 900 euro (depends on experience and education achieved); annual performance bonus. This is a part-time position for maximum 60 hrs/per month.

Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are looking for a motivated Finance manager to work closely with Local Senior Management and Head of Finance on global level to provide decision support capabilities and financial direction to the businesses within the office.

This is a part-time role for maternity leave cover. Flexible working arrangement for approx. 60 hours per month.

1 Accounting, taxes, audit:
• Processing of selected accounting operations for monthly closing (bonus accruals, salaries, IFRS related accounting entries)
• Review of accounting entries and reconciliations of accounts on monthly basis.
• Calculation of monthly recharges between group companies
• Preparation of financial statements according to local GAAP and providing supporting evidence to Group finance department for IFRS statements preparation.
• Compilation of CIT returns, revision of returns and related VAT reports.
• Communication with tax advisors and the tax office.
• Interact with external auditors in completing audits and other advisors and outsourcing external firms
• Solving specific accounting and tax cases.
2 Treasury
• Cash flow planning.
• Communication with banks.
• Processing of salary payments
3 Reporting
• Regular reports associated with the monthly financial statements for top management.
• Revision of actual financial results on monthly basis for group reporting purposes
• Internal reports as needed by the company’s management (Aged WIP report, Aged debtors report, Utilisation report, Intercompany matrix)
• Cooperation with the regional finance team, colleagues from other local departments.
4 Budgeting / Forecasting
• Preparation of the budget and forecast for Bratislava offices and revision of actual financial results on monthly basis in comparison to budgeted and forecasted figures
5 Leading
• Manage the local finance team, organise and direct the day-to-day finance operations for the office.

• Proven working experience as a Finance manager or skilled Senior Accountant;
• A minimum of 5 year experience in local accounting, financial reporting, invoicing, financial data analysis and taxation; minimum 3 years of experience in international accounting;
• Experience in Big 4 is an advantage;
• Advanced degree in Accounting;
• ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred;
• Thorough knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and procedures;
• Experience with creating financial statements;
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process;
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
