Job description, responsibilities and duties

Purpose of role:

Responsible for managing low and medium internal and customer facing projects to budget, schedule, and quality. Working with departmental team members, this role demands timely and effective communications with project sponsors, internal stakeholders, technical specialists, and customers across multiple concurrent projects. Working closely with customers, managing their expectations, and ensuring that the right job is completed and done well. Helping the project team and their customers to be successful.

The person for this role needs to be organized, articulated, detail-orientated and commercially aware, with an appreciation of business operations, and able to lead and delegate. You take pride and responsibility and have the drive to get the job done.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Defining resources, and outcomes of the project, and gaining customer agreement to these
  • Developing project plans, budgets, and teams, and identifying and scheduling project activities
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, delivery teams and customers
  • Assigning work and leading the project team
  • Working closely with the project team to ensure that commitments and deadlines are met
  • Regularly reviewing project scope, costs, performance, and business benefits to keep theproject on track
  • Communicating project progress and outcomes to the delivery team, the project sponsor, the project board, and the customer
  • Dealing with emerging risks and issues promptly and professionally, escalating where necessary
  • Using appropriate standards, systems, resources, tools, and techniques in all project management activities
  • Maintaining and controlling project documentation and systems during, and on completion of the project
  • Closing projects to enable revenue recognition, and to review lessons learned as required

Key Results Indicators & Measures of success:

  • Projects show deadlines, schedule, budget, and deliverables are met
  • Positive engagement of all stakeholders as demonstrated by review meetings and feedback received.
  • Positive feedback from project stakeholders and teams from audit activities
  • Suggestions for improvement of all documented processes

Skills / Knowledge & Experience:

  • Some project management experience, preferably gained from managing IT projects
  • Good communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Some experience of commercial decision making
  • Some experience of software development project management
  • Experience of working with MS Office – Project, Excel, and Visio
  • Some experience of using project management databases and systems
  • Demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly develop effective working relationships with internal and external project teams.
  • Must be very strongly process-driven with experience of working in a changing environment and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to handle increasingly high volume of work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment in a calm manner.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive industry (desirable, not essential).
  • Language skills: German and English.
  • Availability to perform international projects specially in France, Switzerland, Germany Luxembourg, and Austria – mostly remote projects.

Qualifications required:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification
  • Language skills: German and English OR French and English
