Job description, responsibilities and duties

Opportunity

This role has responsibility for leading part of the launch quality activities into our Nitra plant, through co-ordination of most Business Functions with the objective of achieving flawless Product Launches, on time, to cost, achieving quality targets and delivering to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Resposibilities
• Deliver vehicles for special events (VVIP, Media Drive, AMS, Show cars), following Show car procedure, senior buy-off and event specific requirements in close cooperation with Event Vehicle Operations
• Uderstand Plant Stop-ship issues and escalate to RIS if event vehicles are affected
• Supply spare parts for event vehicles upon Event Vehicle Operations request
• Lead Build planning and build event for introduction of new Model Year vehicles
• Preparation of robust Post Build Plan for each build phase according JLR requirements
• Lead the In Process Containment (IPC). IPC is an agreement, between Plant and other areas of the Launch team, to deviate from the released vehicle manufacturing process
• Manage and resolve all product quality issues adequately through the Advanced Issues Management system (AIMS), IQM
• Track and resolve Quality performance during each build phase via scorecard and actively drive the teams to achieve targets
• Assist and support cross functional launch teams to resolve any outstanding issues using robust audit and problem solving techniques
• Leading launch quality team with initiatives that deliver the Launch Quality Operating Systems & Integrated Product Structure and its associated scorecard metrics (KPIs)
• Governance of Plant Launch KPIs for compliance (IATF, UTAC, Departmental Scorecard, RMP/DRIM, Internal Audits)
• Manage Plant Launch headcount and budget
• Identify risks to the launch process during build phases by understanding the processes, parts design and function, by lessons learned from the previous launch experience
• Undertake any other work as desired by their direct manager with their job as may be requested from time to time. Support all departments to achieve the final product by teamwork

Personality requirements and skills

Essential:
• Relevant previous experience of Launch/ Quality / Manufacturing
• Experience of Quality Operating Systems including Launch Quality Operating Systems
• Understanding of vehicle programme quality and health and safety processes & procedures
• Can manage and resolve a wide range of complex problems using problem solving tools
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure when necessary to deliver key objectives
• Candidates must demonstrate drive, initiative and strong analytical skills, accuracy in reports
• Able to form strong working relationships with internal and external parties
• English speaking and a good understanding of written and spoken English
• Strong interpersonal and organisation skills

Desirable:
• Knowledge of the systems FMS, AIMS, PRODIS, D42, FLAGS, MES, JIRA (Agile)
