Job description, responsibilities and duties

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, overall supervision of Head of Office, the Operations and Reintegration Assistant will be responsible for oversight and implementation of all relevant project activities of the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration programme of IOM Slovakia.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

1. Coordination and implementation of activities aimed at building the capacity of workers who come into contact with vulnerable migrants;
2. Preparation of trainings, materials for trainings and updating of training materials;
3. Communication and coordination with trainers and trainees; including delivery of trainings; Ensure proper documentation, requests for training materials etc is completed within the established best practices and rules in a timely and planned manner.
4. Preparation of activities, implementation and active participation in all project activities;
5. Preparation and provision of reintegration assistance to the target group with a special focus on vulnerable groups of migrants in close co-operation with field operations assistant;
6. Assistance to returnees with elaboration of reintegration plans;
7. Co-operation with IOM missions regarding the elaboration and feedback on proposed reintegration plans;
8. Organization of meetings of IOM Bratislava selection committee to select reintegration plans for implementations;
9. Close cooperation with IOM missions in the countries of origin regarding the practical implementation of reintegration assistance;
10. Collection of all supporting documentation regarding the implemented reintegration assistance;
11. Monitor implemented reintegration assistance including organization of relevant monitoring visits in countries of origin;
12. In co-operation with the project manager updating the IOM manual on reintegration;
13. Active participation in related activities, such as development of information materials for target groups, PR activities of the program, operations, etc.;
14. Establishing and maintaining contacts with relevant governmental, non-governmental entities on project issues;
15. Active participation in the meetings of the project team as well as attending official meetings and appointments if needed.
16. Assistance in the monitoring and evaluation of the project as well as in the preparation of periodic and final reports on activities in compliance with donor reporting requirements;
17. In cooperation with other members of the project team contribution to development of new projects aimed at different migration issues in order to secure sustainability and continuation of AVR activities;
18. Assistance with updates of AVRR website and social media;
19. Assistance with informal translations;
20. Performs other duties assigned by Head of Office/Project Manager.

General Staff (GV, UN Salary Scale valid for the Slovak Republic since 1 Jan 2009). Step one of the salary scale corresponds to all inclusive fee 1490 EUR per month (take home payment 1455 EUR per month - income is exempted from taxation).
6 weeks of paid annual leave per year (2.5 days per completed month of service).
24 days of paid sick leave per year (2 days per completed month of service).

Personality requirements and skills

Education

• University degree in Social Sciences preferably with three years of professional experience or provision of trainings
OR
• High school diploma with minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in the field of migration or provision of trainings

Experience

• Experience with preparation and delivery of trainings on the topic of vulnerable migrants;
• Experience in project management;
• Experience in implementation of projects aimed at education and capacity building;
• Experience in provision of counselling services to migrants with emphasis on work with vulnerable migrants;
• Experience in the usage of office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and data analysis;


Skills

• Orientation in legislation covering residence of foreigners in the Slovak republic and voluntary returns;
• Presentation to and working with trainees to achieve desired results

Languages

• Fluency in English and Slovak (oral and written).
• Knowledge of another official IOM (French, Spanish) language is an advantage.
