Job description, responsibilities and duties

Work environment

Financial Markets Client Control (FMCC) is a department within Financial Markets (FM) Business Services (part of ING Wholesale Banking). The department consists of a Centre of Excellence (COE) in Amsterdam and two execution locations in Bratislava and Manila that provide services to 30 countries worldwide. The aim of these services is to ensure control throughout the client and counterparty life-cycle (from on-boarding to exit and all processes in between) for FM and Group Treasury (GT). FMCC works using ING’s One Agile Way Of Working principles.

Job Description

The Local Process Lead holds end-to-end responsibility for the process vision and strategy, as well as for creating, harmonizing, operationalizing, managing and improving multiple processes. As a Local Process Lead:
- You have in-depth knowledge of the processes in your scope and you are the person to go to when decisions are required on exceptional cases
- You support the FMCC MT in the creation of vision, strategy and roadmap of Epics to develop and improve the global processes
- You are able to implement change and will steer further development of the processes by providing your input in Change/BaU Epics
- You are responsible for 1st line quality assurance, where the quality and throughput time of the output is tested
- You are responsible for compliancy to internal and external regulation or policies while also focusing on handling time (operational costs) and the agreement of our services with our (business) clients Financial Markets and Group Treasury
- You are responsible for the development of craftsmanship – how the processes should be executed, in line with ING’s Orange Code
The Local Process Lead plays a vital role when new or changing requirements or improvements affect processes under your responsibility.
Main roles and responsibilities:
As Local Process Lead:
- You sustain relevant knowledge level for stream members in the execution locations (e.g. new regulations) and proactively keep knowledge up to date on regulations related to processes
- You are the SPOC for business & other streams (e.g. escalations, status updates)
- You are responsible for Quality Assurance (e.g. Work Place Instructions approval) and sign-off / accept process changes
- You review the performance statistics (E.G. or other tools) and advice management on capacity requirements
- You cooperate with stakeholders and collect & address stakeholder feedback periodically (continuous service improvement)
- You take on the role of Process Specialist (process execution) when needed
When accepting changes or new processes
- You are setting clear priorities together with the FMCC leadership
- You estimate BAU impact in terms of capacity and knowledge and share this with the epic owner who is guiding the change
- You review and sign off on relevant documentation like Epic Description Documents (EDD’s), Workplace Instructions (WPI’s), technical requirements etc
- Together with the epic owner, you pro-actively involve all relevant stakeholders (both FMCC and non-FMCC) that are required for the realization of the Epic.

Focus areas
As Process Lead Regulatory Onboarding, you have the responsibility to ensure that our clients are compliant for various external regulations like EMIR, MIFID, SFTR etc. so that ING can seamlessly trade in FM and GT locations around the globe (28 locations) in accordance to the rules stipulated by the corresponding regulatory authority. FMCC Regulatory Onboarding is the 1st line of defence in ensuring all regulatory requirements are met before a client can trade with ING. As Local Process Lead Regulatory Onboarding, you:
- Pro-actively support team in change implementation and process improvements the Regulatory Onboarding requests and other Regulatory Onboarding related activities i.e. Post Trade Monitoring, Remediation, Regulatory Outreach etc.;
- Are the first point of contact for the Front office (Sales, Trading, and GT), FM Legal, FM Compliance and other stakeholders/ departments on Regulatory related matters;
- Are service oriented towards Front Office but strict when it comes to adhering to regulatory requirements;
- Challenge the status quo, what has been agreed in the past may not always be the answer in today’s challenges;
- Always ask yourself the questions, What is it that we do, Why are we doing it, and How are we doing it?
- Are continuously looking to improve our way of working;

Competencies and experience
- 4-7 Years working experience in the financial sector, preferably with regulatory knowledge in a front office (related) role in financial markets
- Fluent in English (speaking and writing) and experienced in working in an international environment
- Experienced in process management and working with outsourcing locations / delivery centres
- Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint and able to present your work and ideas structured and clear
