Job description, responsibilities and duties
We are looking for the AME Inverter Assembly Process Leader who will be a part of the global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team that execute the strategy and vision of Garrett product manufacturing defining the processes, methods and standards applied across plants. She/He will be responsible for defining the assembly processes of Garrett electric products, like electric motor inverters & controllers, PCB, actuators and sensors.
The main responsibilities in this position are:
- to cooperate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) CoEs to define the equipments and processes for electric motor inverter assembly
- to define & validate specification book for new manufacturing lines introduction and line upgrades
- to validate the specifications for toolings and softwares
- to support plants for installation, commissioning and validation of new equipments and processes
- to support AME CoEs in defining the strategy & vision over AOP and STRAP by proposing technical roadmap & related capital investment
- to drive global standardization with AME CoE and plants about electric motor inverters assembly processes
- to develop new processes, define Process Instructions & Quality Control Instructions
- to define & implement projects to improve HSE, Quality, equipment efficiency and productivity using Lean mindset
- to support panel supplier strategy and implementation
- to manage technical projects and coordinate with manufacturing equipments suppliers and Garrett plants
- to support Garrett plants acting as a technical expert to sort recurrent issues on processes, equipment, tools, quality and HSE and NPI.
- to support AME NPI team and Engineering to capture new technologies in NPI Ph1-6 and consolidate requirements
- to support Make-buy studies on new technology introduction (lead application)
- to provide Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) deliverables: DFM check list, Generic Process FMEA, PI-QCI
- responsibilty for Generic Process FMEA on processes
- to consolidate Capex need (Equipments, toolings)
- to control ODT & PPAP preparation & results

- minimum 5+ years of experience as Manufacturing engineer in companies building e-motors inverters, ECU or control units, control panels & boards, electric & electronic consumer products, robots, etc…
- ability to develop an effective project plan and control strategy for his own work
- experience with cross functional interactions of multi skilled & cultural organization and people
- knowledge on manufacturing processes: Assembly, Screwing, PCB assembly, Soldering (selective, iron, laser), Bending and Cutting, Conformal Coating, PCB Cleaning, Resistance Welding, Adhesive Dispensing, Gluing, Adhesive curing, Electrical Testing, End of Line Testing, Traceability, Quality control, Digital Factory
- capable on program management tools (project tracking, planning)
- demonstrated English written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels
- effective communicator, able to drive and solve conflicting situations, problem solving & Lean mindset
