Who We Are Looking For?
We are looking for a talented and senior software developer who likes to work in a well-structured Scrum-based product development team.

Your Next Project – FREQUENTIS SDN product
FREQUENTIS SOLUTIONS oversees the development of the FREQUENTIS SDN product, an open standards-based software defined networking (SDN) controller tailored for air traffic management (ATM) networks. Combining real-time performance information from the network with application needs and pre-defined mitigation scenarios, it enables converged networks serving all applications – from safety-critical to administrative. It fills the technical gap between conventional IP networks and the very specific and heterogeneous requirements of different ATM applications.

Your main tasks in the project will be:
• Work closely with the responsible product owner
• Analyse requirement specifications and design their technical implementation in the product
• Implement selected development tasks yourself
• Manage development process in JIRADevelop unit and end-to-end tests of the product
• Ensure all work is executed according to ATM software quality assurance standards

Your Technical Skills and Knowledge
You should have minimum 3 years of professional experience in software development and be familiar with following technologies:
• Java 8 (IntelliJ IDEA), C/C++
• Python3 Senior
• Linux basics
• any Version Control System (Git, SVN… )

Following technologies are advantageous. It’s not a problem if you don’t know them right now, but you should be willing to learn them on the go:
• General networking concepts (routing, switching)
• ONOS, Apache Karaf, OpenFlow communications protocol
• Configuration of CISCO network devices (IOS-XE, IOS-XR)
• Understanding of IGP protocols (OSPF, OSPFv3 or simmilar)
• Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP protocol)
• Docker, Git, Maven, Jenkins
• JIRA, JAMA requirements and test management

Brief description of the company

Our Bratislava-based company FREQUENTIS Solutions & Services belongs to the Austrian group FREQUENIS AG (, specialized in safety-critical voice communications, for example for air traffic control towers, public safety control rooms (112) or air defense forces. Our mission critical solutions cover diverse areas, such as telephony and radio communication, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), incident and resource management, video surveillance and automatic video analytics.

In the last couple of years this business has evolved from hardware- to software-centric solutions and Frequentis has also increasingly provided mission-critical IT solutions beyond voice communication to our customers. We follow the Scrum methodology and our applications are mostly developed in Java to the highest quality standards.
From an engineering perspective we deploy state-of-the-art technologies and design patterns.
