Job description, responsibilities and duties

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced finacial professional. We are looking for a candidate that has big picture view on financial matters, international environment experience + SOX knowledge.

We are exclusively working with our client - a well-established global company, a shared service center in Bratislava.

The role will support and help manage the transformation of the AP, AR, MC and CM functions within a Shared Service Center in Vienna, ensuring operational reliability and process/system improvements. The holder of this position works with the business and corporate leaders to address the organization's critical focus on accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and compliance, parallel to ensuring enhancement of customer experience.

The goal is for the holder of this position to eventually take over as Head of the Department within 12 months depending on performance, after a comprehensive training and mentorship process has been concluded.

Reports to the Senior Finance Project Manager based in Vienna, Austria who is responsible for Finance in multiple countries

- Help manage and support high-performing teams (2 directs, 4 functional teams), oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring that all standards are met and procedures are followed
- Establish priorities and schedules of main activities
- Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders
- Reviews and monitors KPIs to identify risks and issues and propose corrective actions
- Drive continued systems and process improvement efforts, as well as an understanding of transactional processes and systems in order to effectively and successfully move initiatives forward
- Lead the implementation of procedural changes driven by decisions made by senior management
- Analyse and re-design business processes, elicit and document requirements, test and validate system solutions, and provide end user support.
- Manage and maintain budgets/cost of staffing/resources, oversee recruitment plans and other administrative functions related to the smooth functioning of the organization and staff development

QUALIFICATION: Degree and Certification in Finance/Accounting

- More than 5 years of experience in leading Shared Service functions (AP/AR and the like), experience in US listed companies an advantage
- Implementation of business process changes and improvements
- Knowledge and experience in implementation of SOX-compliant processes
- Management of Finance projects (either systems or process implementations)
- Highly skilled in written and verbal communication (English fluency a must, fluency in other languages an advantage)
