Job description, responsibilities and duties

We are seeking an experienced, senior-level Cybersecurity Writer/Editor to join our global Security Research Publication and Awareness Team.

What does work as a Cybersecurity Writer/Editor at ESET entail?

The core of the job is to edit, review and create cybersecurity research publications for various audiences, mostly published on ESET’s blogging platform WeLiveSecurity.com.

Your primary role will be to closely cooperate with our global threat research team, helping researchers, who are mainly not native English speakers, maximize the reach of their findings, in a joint effort to inform about current cyber-threats.

Apart from wordsmithing the work of others, there are opportunities to flex your creative muscles collaborating on various other IT security awareness materials and projects within the team.

Are you cut out for the job?

A diploma is neither a necessary nor a sufficient precondition for this position. However, exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills in English are a must.

In addition, the ability to gain a deep understanding of various cybersecurity topics and to translate complex technical information into simple and engaging content, are needed to qualify for this role.

Finally, background and experience in cybersecurity are a significant plus.

Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses. They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD.
