Job description, responsibilities and duties

To strengthen our Global Marketing team, we are looking for Strategic marketing specialist. The role is based in Bratislava, ESET HQ. It offers wide responsibilities and attractive career progression opportunities within ESET Global & Regional Marketing role.

Job duties:
The Strategic marketing specialist actively supports creation of segment marketing strategy, propositions, offerings & key messages, has sole concept creation responsibilities for launches (incl. cross-functional coordination), and drives cross-touchpoint messaging and product naming alignment. He/she also co-leads business case creation predominantly for segment marketing initiatives.
• Use market, brand, media, competitor, customer, product and audience data and primary/secondary insights to create differentiating strategic segment marketing initiatives.
• Provide support and in some parts lead creation of future Segment Marketing Strategy. Key inputs are ESET company, segment, and overall marketing strategies.
• Provide strategic, segment relevant information and guidance that serves as an input for Global Marketing Programs and/or other Marketing Teams and enables them to create strong campaign and/or program communication concepts.
• Co-lead business case creation for both, strategic and tactical marketing initiatives (programs, campaigns, launches etc.).
• Drive messaging and product naming consistency across global and local customer touchpoints for a specific segment.
• Provide strategic marketing expertise in support of future segment proposition design and product/solutions/service launches including early access/pilot (in collaboration with Global Sales and other relevant stakeholders).
• Create logical structure of business cases, co-lead creation of high level KPIs to be used for evaluating projects, creating benchmarks, initiating learnings/continuous improvements.
• Actively project manage initiatives in full ownership, build mid-level stakeholder relations and contribute to productive and close cooperation with other global, regional and priority country teams. If required, support identification of gaps in internal knowledge and capabilities, and related solution approaches.

Personality requirements and skills

Ideal candidate has:
• At least 4 years of experience in the following areas: market insight, marketing strategy, audience marketing, product marketing, concept creation, business planning, project management
• Proficient level of English (at least C1)
• Solid understanding of B2B technology (digital security) buying process & stakeholders/audience needs and behaviors
• Advanced experience to ideate innovative strategic marketing initiatives, conceptualize these, and shape global execution
• Experience in creating high-quality business cases for marketing initiatives
• Understanding of endpoint security market, competitors, technology and trends
• Ability to combine strong data analytics understanding with creativity and executability pragmatism
• Ability to de-average audience groups and passion to be a true customer needs & behavior advocate
• Ability to formulate the big picture while considering key details, to view topics holistically (end to end) but also break down into phases (step by step)
• Thriving in an international, meritocratic, hands-on, multi-task, collaborative, deadline-driven, fast-paced, quality-output, and impact-oriented work environment
• Willingness to occasionally travel internationally


Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses. They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD. In 1992, together with their mutual friend Rudolf Hrubý, they formally established ESET.

What started as the brainchild of a few friends has evolved into the most valuable international brand of any Slovak company. Today ESET’s NOD32 technology protects over 100 million users across the world.

This success did not come overnight. The company’s global success and growth was given a boost in 1998 with its first “VB100” award from the prestigious Virus Bulletin magazine. Since then, we’ve received this accolade more than 100 times.

Today, over 1,800 employees around the world drive the company’s success – a telling increase from 3 in 1987 and 135 in 2006. Almost 900 of them are based in Slovakia, the home of ESET headquarters.
