Job description, responsibilities and duties

As Global Segment Marketing Manager you will co-lead with segment directors the creation of future segment marketing strategy, propositions, offerings & key messages, have sole concept creation responsibilities for launches, (incl. cross-functional coordination), and drive cross-touchpoint messaging and product naming alignment.

Job duties:
Although it is a maternity cover (short-term) a strong performer in this role will also have long-term career and growth opportunities within ESET Global Marketing, Regional Marketing Roles, and beyond.

• Make recommendations for segment planning. Create differentiating propositions, offerings, key messages and relevant strategic segment marketing initiatives.
• Co-create segment-oriented marketing strategy together with Global and Global Sales.
• Evaluate & visualize current 4P offering (ESET vs. main competitors) for CONS, SMB, MSP, ENT segments
• Co-lead design future profitable, comprehensive, and competitive 4P offering for CONS, SMB, MSP, ENT segments: targeting specific sub-segments with clear, and focused strategic marketing plan. Collaborate on development of sales/channels tactical execution plan.
• Co-lead design of e.g. new offerings or go-to-market strategies in different part of horizontal & vertical ecosystem, or new types of services (as opposed to products)
• Coordinate and integrate necessary inputs from Insight, Brand/Media, Creative, Sales, PR, Online, Technology departments and teams for truly impactful proposition concepts.
• Together with Global Sales counterpart, oversee and co-lead creation of integrated early access/pilot and full launch strategies for priority product/solution/services launches. Coordinate and integrate necessary inputs from Product Mgmt, Insight, Brand/Media, Creative, Sales, PR, Online departments and teams for truly impactful launch strategies.
• Oversee and when required actively coordinate cross-functional execution of launch strategies and lead execution of marketing part of launch strategies for impactful delivery of product/solution/services launches.
• Oversee and approve provision of strategic, segment relevant information and guidance that serves as an input for Global Marketing Programs and/or other Marketing Teams and enables them to create strong campaign and/or program communication concepts.
• Co-lead or lead creation and active application of consistent messaging and product naming across global and local customer touchpoints.
• Be responsible for business cases creation, setting correct high-level expectations and KPIs to be used for evaluating projects, creating benchmarks, initiating learnings/continuous improvements.
• Actively manage and develop newly restructured Global Segment Marketing team of strong performers. Motivate the team members and make sure they self-educate and attend the right hard skills courses in order to increase subject matter expertise and further develop their soft-skills in order to smoothen the cross-team collaboration.
• Actively build mid to senior level stakeholder relations and contribute to productive and close cooperation within other global and regional marketing teams, global online marketing, global sales, segment divisions, finance, and HR/support teams. If required, identify gaps in internal knowledge and capabilities, set criteria, lead tenders and co-drive selection of external agencies/partners and lead subsequent collaboration with those.

Personality requirements and skills

Ideal candidate has:

• At least 6 years of preferably international experience gained in renowned marketing/strategy consultancy and/or large company in technology sector
• In minimum 4 years of experience of the following: market insight, marketing strategy, product marketing, audience marketing, concept creation, business planning
• Solid understanding and affinity for the IT (digital security) sector and IT buyers (residential, business)
• Proficient level of English (at least C1)
• Intercultural competence and knowledge of the market ecosystem on global level (most important: Europe and North America)
• Proven track record of producing audience and product marketing content
• Ability and willingness to frequently travel internationally/intercontinentally
• Demonstrable experience in building effective marketing offerings and programs
• Well organized and structured with understanding of all strategy, marketing and communication disciplines and the ability to work independently while motivating cross-functional teams, agencies, and management to assist where needed
• Advanced ability in strategy/concept creation and business case formulation
• Both big picture and detail oriented, with ability to view topics holistically (end to end) but also break down into phases (step by step)
• Thriving in an international, meritocratic, hands-on, multi-task, collaborative, deadline-driven, fast-paced, quality-output and impact-oriented work environment

Brief description of the company

The beginnings of ESET date back to 1987, when two young programming enthusiasts, Peter Paško and Miroslav Trnka, wrote a program for the detection of one of the world’s first computer viruses. They did not know that they had created one of the most successful antivirus programs in the world – dubbing it NOD. In 1992, together with their mutual friend Rudolf Hrubý, they formally established ESET.

What started as the brainchild of a few friends has evolved into the most valuable international brand of any Slovak company. Today ESET’s NOD32 technology protects over 100 million users across the world.

This success did not come overnight. The company’s global success and growth was given a boost in 1998 with its first “VB100” award from the prestigious Virus Bulletin magazine. Since then, we’ve received this accolade more than 100 times.

Today, over 1,800 employees around the world drive the company’s success – a telling increase from 3 in 1987 and 135 in 2006. Almost 900 of them are based in Slovakia, the home of ESET headquarters.
