Job description, responsibilities and duties


Tasks:
  • Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of infrastructure and services—from inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement.
  • Review infrastructure and services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews.
  • Actively participate in incident resolution during the onboarding phase and work on lessons learned as well as preventive design approaches.
  • Engage in continuous integration, continuous deployment and continuous testing of infrastructure and services.
  • Ensure infrastructure and/or application availability and continuously optimize resource usage.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
  • Prepare and continuously improve technical documentation
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, CI/CD engineers, and project stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables
  • Automating, scheduling builds and deployments, performing manual deployments if needed, coordinating with the engineering and QA teams, and assisting in the development and implementation of CI automation tools, scripts, and workflows
  • Deliver recommendations and guidance with regard to automation, orchestration, build, and deployment efforts
  • Deliver recommendations and guidance with regard to project scoping, release/sprint planning using Agile DevOps tools (e.g., Rally/JIRA), and prioritization for automation, orchestration, build, and deployment efforts

Professional skills:
  • University degree in Technical area (Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems or related field)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies in Linux based environments (hypervisor and/or container-based virtualization)
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networking and network security
  • Experience in one or more of the following DevOps tools: Gitlab, Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, Ansible, OpenShift, etc
  • Experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Java, Python, Go

Brief description of the company

Deutsche Telekom Pan-Net, s.r.o. - established within Pan IP program is a company which will pilot and manage the whole pan-European Network. From Bratislava, this company will be the first point of contact regarding all overarching matters of the national companies with respect to the pan-European Network.
Being the key entry gate for requirements towards Pan-Net portfolio, we will manage a common service production catalogue, establish new processes and operating models, combining assets and resources to create services for the national companies.
To achieve all this we are building a new, cross-functional and truly international team.
