Job description, responsibilities and duties

Purpose
Senior technical expert responsible for design and implementation of an assigned technology.

Key accountabilities
• As a Solution Architect Google Cloud Platform (GCP) you are able to implement your personal experience and competence in the design of complex solutions based on the GCP services and solutions for our customers. You are the technical contact for customers and sales during the entire pre-sales phase and support you in the implementation of modern, cloud-based GCP solutions, from conception to implementation with our operations teams. You use your excellent experience with GCP technologies successfully in the implementation of the tasks. Your core activities also include the following:
• Technical solution design of innovative cloud architectures based on GCP services for new customers and further development of existing customers
• You are responsible for the planning and design of cloud solutions based on GCP, and you also support the implementation and migration of IT infrastructures and software solutions to the Google Cloud Platform
• You will design implementation and operational concepts for GCP services and support customer projects until they are put into operation
• Based on your experience in the cloud infrastructure environment, you are able to create hybrid solutions and combine public and private cloud components in a meaningful way
• You are very familiar with the GCP products and solutions, can apply them efficiently in solution designs and are also familiar with the associated licensing options
• Scouting and evaluation of new GCP services to further develop our technology portfolio, including presentation at management level
• Development of standards for GCP services together with our operations teams that are applied across customers
• Optimization of existing processes and tools for the central management of GCP tenants and subscriptions
• Examination of existing environments as part of technical due diligence and identification of optimization potential with new GCP services
• Management of task forces in the areas of IT operations, cloud technologies and solutions

Education
• Information technologies - Master´s degree with adequate professional experience or comparable knowledge and skills

Experience
• Experience in comparable tasks
• Pronounced experience (at least 3 years) in the area of the GCP product range and technologies (Compute Engine, Serverless, Storage Solutions, Anthos, GKE, ...)
• Pronounced experience (min. 3 years) with hybrid cloud solutions in connection with GCP
• Pronounced solution design know-how with at least 5 years of experience in the IT outsourcing environment
• Good knowledge of applications and infrastructures, architecture concepts and technologies
• Experience in cloud computing architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and DevOps
• Technical certifications (e.g. Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer and/or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect)
• Confident appearance, customer orientation and assertiveness
• Very sound technical understanding and at least 8 years of experience in IT operations
• Distinctive customer-oriented, entrepreneurial thinking and acting, especially at decision-maker/management level
• Strongly analytical, systematic and structured way of working
• Distinct flexibility, resilience and willingness to perform
• Excellent social skills and experience in coaching and knowledge transfer
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills

• In-depth knowledge of the software products used in the area of network (Cisco,..), storage (NetApp, IBM, HDS,..), VM ware, operating system (Windows, AIX, Linux,..)
