Job description, responsibilities and duties

About the project
As Digital Hub NCA, we reliably ensure the high availability and high quality of the telekom platforms and services. We provide the IT-technical assurance systems in order to be able to operate products, services and the underlying technical infrastructure efficiently and to be able to troubleshoot them quickly.
The aim is to guarantee customers a flawless user experience over the entire lifecycle and to turn our customers into fans!

Our goal is also to develop and deliver software faster, more efficiently and in a more customer-oriented manner, while further promoting feature-centric agile development. Cloud-based applications, automation and modern applications are clearly in focus.

There are currently 13 assurance applications in our value stream, including the Common Assurance applications. And together with DT Technik, we are responsible for Deutsche Telekom's entire network-related assurance portfolio.

General description
• QA Automation Engineer evaluates tools and technology for test automation most appropriate to the project, writes, design, and executes automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically, maximizing test coverage of automated tests for the critical features of the system. Enables the transition of testing in various phases of testing process from a manual to an automated approach to minimize the manual test effort. Determines the priority for test scenarios and creates execution plans to implement these scenarios, writes documentation for automated processes including test plans, test procedures, and test cases. QA Automation Engineer does selection and building of test automation frameworks, log and document bugs in the tracking system and setting up Continuous Integration in a CI/CD (continuous integration / continuous delivery) pipeline and oversees the entire development process, which includes software testing, from start to finish. The holder of position makes sure all released products meet company and industry quality standards and supports test team with test automation know-how, stays current on modern processes, established tools, techniques, and technologies and ensures high degree of quality.

Personality requirements and skills

Special project responsibilities
• support automated regression testing for one of applications of ART NCA (tests creation, execution, reporting, scope extension)
• participate in Test Automation extension for other applications of ART NCA

Requirements
Basic Skills (must have)
1. Knowledge of testing theory, e.g. Test Process, Test Procedures etc.
2. Experience in manual testing (> 2 years)
3. Knowledge of Soap UI, testing of REST API
4. Knowledge of TestNG framework)

Special Skills (nice to have)
1. Experience in test automation
2. ISTQB Foundation Certificate
3. Knowledge of Microfocus Service Manager (HP SM)
4. Java 8


Languages
• English B2 (must)
• German language is an advantage
