Accounts Payable Support - temporary contract: 3-6 months

Job description, responsibilities and duties

  • Process accounts payable invoices and payment requests in accordance with policies and procedures as assigned by specific role definition
  • Process vendor payments in coordination with established Funds Forecasts and schedules in accordance with policies and procedures as assigned by specific role definition
  • Interact with division personnel (purchasing, receiving, department heads, etc.) for routine vendor process-related matters.
  • Answer vendor inquiries within one business day whenever possible or make allowance to refer caller to another associate.
  • Provide journal entries to accrue unrecorded accounts payable charges, both trade and intercompany, to General Accounting Group monthly.
  • Provide Open Trade Accounts Payable reports as of month-end to General Accountant for account reconciliation.
  • Cross-train with personnel in other functional areas, as required.
  • Review quarterly cross-divisional invoice audits as assigned. Notify Accounts Payable Manager of any unusual Accounts Payable activity.

  • A 3-6 month contract position means 'in 3-6 months we will evaluate your performance and either hire you as an FTE (when is there open position) or extend the contract'.

Requirements for the employee

Candidates with education suit the position

Secondary with school-leaving examination
University education (Bachelor's degree)
University education (Master's degree)

Language skills

English - Upper intermediate (B2) and German - Intermediate (B1)

The position is suitable for a fresh graduate


Personality requirements and skills

  • Active English (B2 - C1) and German (B1 or higher level)
  • Accounts payable experience and knowledge of accounting practices directly related to Accounts payable processing is an advantage,
  • The position is also suitable for a talented fresh graduate - accounting, finance
  • Working knowledge of current versions of Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • SAP experience will be considered a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Motivated self-starter with strong organization and multi-tasking abilities
